Preparing for Junior Staff
How to study
The exam requires applying criteria to situations. Study this guide along with those on installation, AutoModpack security, connection problems, voice, economy, minerals and mods. You should explain why you choose a stock and what you would check next. Memorizing a phrase is no substitute for understanding the case.
1. Facts, versions and evidence
Separate what you observed from what someone claims. Preserves date, time, time zone, world, participants and case reference. A partial capture, a clip with no start, or a previous history does not by itself prove a new violation. Request context and compare sources without deciding by rank, friendship, popularity, or arrival of the report.
2. Safety and position limits
Prioritize immediate risk with the measures allowed for your role. Urgency and the absence of a Staff Manager do not extend your permissions. Check the procedure and syntax before using a command. Do not improvise sanctions, refunds, restorations or rule changes. If the damage is not immediate and the decision exceeds your range, document it and leave it pending review.
3. Privacy and access
Never request, accept, copy or test passwords, PINs, tokens or private codes. Ask for the exact error, version and reproducible steps. Purge secrets and unnecessary personal data from logs before sharing them through the authorized private channel. Do not expose reports or confirm the identity of the informant. Details and files should only reach those who need to review them.
4. Impartiality and traceability
Declares conflicts of interest. If the case involves a friendship, it contains the permitted risk and requests an independent decision. Refuse gifts or benefits for intervening. Do not delete sanctions, Staff rulings or evidence to facilitate a closure: record clarifications and corrections while preserving the history. Recidivism must be supported by verifiable antecedents.
5. Technical diagnosis by stages
First determine what is wrong, who it affects and since when. Check server status and notices. It includes Java or Bedrock edition, profile and version, address and port used, exact error, world and steps. Distinguishes initial charging, failure to connect and failure after entering. A connection through localhost does not confirm access from the Internet. Test one hypothesis at a time, with reversible changes authorized, and record expected and observed results.
6. Consult the appropriate guides
The official profile and its dependencies must match: updating everything to the latest release does not guarantee compatibility. An unexpected AutoModpack trace requires confirming the change before trusting; when sync asks for restart, it restarts the client. Bedrock does not install Java JARs and may have adaptation limits. In JEI, R shows recipes and U uses; Nature's Compass searches for biomes and Explorer's Compass searches for structures. Spark helps measure performance and Chunky helps pre-generate terrain. Consult the world indicated for each mineral before changing tool or height.
7. Bugs, economics and uncertain actions
If you detect duplication, stop testing it and privately report the steps and observed impact, including any self-use. Do not spread the method or repeat it in production to measure it. A purchase charge and the delivery of the object are different states: relate references and review the status before repeating a purchase or compensating. If the bot is late or misses its response, check status and registration before repeating an action; avoid duplicates.
8. Escalate and turn in the shift
A good relay contains environment, error, proven facts, pending hypotheses, tests carried out, results, authorized actions already applied and next verification. Confirm who continues when there is active risk. Do not promise a refund or sanction that must be decided by someone else. Informs the player of the permitted status of the case, without disclosing private information of the team or third parties.
9. Candidacy and trial period
The practice quiz is for studying; It does not replace the official exam. The grade for the choice questions requires at least 80% correct answers. The last open response is reviewed by Staff Manager, along with the application, before accepting a Junior. Junior's test is evaluated over five sessions for attendance, conduct, and compliance with the procedure, not over five elapsed days. Record availability and time zone without assuming them.
Exercise to prepare you
Invent an incident different from those in the exam. Write down what you know, what you need to verify, what information you would protect, what you can do within your range, and how you would escalate it. Then change one piece of information about the case and see if your decision changes. This way you practice reasoning without learning a list of answers.
